Andrew R. Urban Named Diversity Hero by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly

Boston, MA - Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly has named Andrew R. Urban, Managing Member of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., one of four "Diversity Heroes" for 2008. The publication is honoring Mr. Urban for his involvement in the founding and cultivation of the Boston Law Firm Group (now the Boston Lawyers Group), an organization which was formed twenty-five years ago to assist in the recruitment and retention of minority attorneys to Boston law firms.
According to Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, all four honorees "are united in their commitment to enabling young minority lawyers to gain entrance into the state's legal-judicial community and to ensuring that, once there, those attorneys are secure in the knowledge that their skills will be appreciated and their efforts rewarded." Mr. Urban and fellow honorees Ralph C. Martin III, Verna Myers, and E. Macey Russell will be recognized at the publication's Excellence in the Law awards luncheon on March 5 at the Fairmont Copley Plaza.
Mr. Urban is the Managing Member of Mintz Levin, and practices in the Real Estate section in the Boston office. His practice principally involves general corporate law, partnership law and real estate acquisition, development and finance. He received his A.B., magna cum laude, from Dartmouth College in 1971, his M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce in 1976, and his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1976.
