Three Mintz Levin Members Named Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers

Washington, D.C. - Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. today announced that three of the firm's attorneys -- Charles D. Ferris, Howard J. Symons, and Susan Neuberger Weller -- were selected as Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers for 2008.  The list appears in the March 23, 2008 issue of The New York Times in Washington, D.C., and in the stand alone magazine, Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers.  Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers are selected based upon ballots sent by Law & Politics to over 35,000 area attorneys. Only five percent of Washington, D.C. lawyers were named 2008 Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers.

Charles D. Ferris is a member in the firm's Washington office, practicing in the Communications Section.   His practice focuses primarily on communications and federal relations law.  He was named to the 2007 and 2008 Best Lawyers in America list, 2007 Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers, and 2006-2007 Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business. Mr. Ferris received his B.A. from Boston College (1954), and his J.D. from Boston College Law School (1961), where he was a member of the Boston College Law Review.  He received an honorary doctorate from Boston College (1978). 

Howard J. Symons is a member in the firm's Washington office and practices in the Communications Section.  Mr. Symons represents cable, wireless, and telecommunications companies and trade associations in a wide range of matters before the FCC, Congress and state legislatures, and the courts.  He was named to the 2007 and 2008 Best Lawyers in America list, 2007 Chambers Global: World's Leading Lawyers for Business, 2007 Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers, and 2006 Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business.  Mr. Symons received his B.A., summa cum laude, from Yale University (1975), and his J.D. from Harvard Law School (1978).

Susan Neuberger Weller is a member in the firm's Washington office, practicing in the Intellectual Property Section. She manages the firm's trademark practice. Her practice involves all aspects of intellectual property and related corporate business transactions, with a particular emphasis on domestic and international trademark and copyright searching, prosecution, enforcement, counseling, and litigation. Ms. Weller was named to the 2007 Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers, 2006 Virginia Super Lawyers, Who's Who Legal USA: Trademarks 2006, the 2006 Edition of The United Who's Who Registry, the 2006-2007 "Honors Edition" of Madison's Who's Who Registry, the 2006-2007 edition of Empire Who's Who Registry, and the 6th and 7th editions of the Guide to the World's Leading Trade Mark Law Practitioners.  She received her B.A., cum laude, with a triple major and Special General Honors Distinction for her participation in the Honors Program, from the University of Miami (1978), and received her J.D. from the National Law Center at George Washington University (1981).
