Cellular Genomics Inc. Raises $22.3 million

1/21/2004

Mintz Levin represented Cellular Genomics Inc. in raising $22.3 million in a first close of a hoped-for $30 million third round of venture capital. The deal furthers the company's shift from pharmaceutical discovery tools to development of its own drug compounds. Cellular Genomics focuses on developing so-called kinase inhibitors, and its first two drugs to fight cancer and autoimmune and inflammatory disease are aimed at addressing the way cells communicate with each other.

Mintz Levin attorneys Frank Marco, who heads the New Haven Office, Jane Harrison, an associate in New Haven, and Linda Rockett, an associate in Boston, provided counsel to the company, which did not utilize a placement agent in the transaction.
