Communications Law Update at New England Cable & Telecommunications Meeting

Cameron Kerry, a member of the Communications Section in Mintz Levin's Boston office, spoke at the seventeenth annual New England Cable & Telecommunications Association, Inc. (NECTA) meeting on March 12, 2004, as part of a "Washington Update Breakfast." Frank Lloyd, a member in the firm's Washington, D.C. office who also practices communications law, served the panel as moderator. Additional members of the panel included Ken Ferree, Chief of the Federal Communication Commission's Media Bureau; the Honorable Jeb Bradley, U.S. Congressman from New Hampshire; and Paul Glist, a partner at Cole, Raywid & Braverman.

Frank is a member in the firm's Washington office and practices in the Communications Section. Frank has argued communications cases before the Federal Communication Commission and the federal courts, and testified before the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives on communications legislation. He is Chairman of the Practicing Law Institute's annual programs in New York, Chicago and San Francisco on Cable Television Law, co-author of the four-volume treatise, Telecommunications Regulation: Cable, Broadcasting, Satellite and the Internet published by Matthew Bender, and an editor of the monthly newsletter, Cable T.V. and New Media Law & Finance. Frank is also the author of a monthly column on cable litigation as well as several law review articles on cable, copyright, and other aspects of communications law. He is currently serving as co-chair of the Federal Communications Bar Association's Cable Practice Committee.

Cam is a member in the Litigation Section of the firm's Boston office, where his practice focuses on litigation involving regulatory law. Cam has represented cable industry and other communications clients before the Federal Communications Commission, federal and state courts, state regulatory bodies, and municipalities in litigation under the Federal Communications Act and other laws; rate regulation proceedings; franchising and renewal proceedings; FCC rulemakings and licensing; regulatory aspects of mergers and acquisitions; counseling regarding regulatory and legal developments; and state common carrier proceedings. He also has represented clients in non-media-related litigation such as commercial, corporate, and antitrust cases.
